Ginger is included in the Zingiberaceae family and closely linked to cardamom, turmeric, and galangal.
It also parts of the rhizome family which is used as a spice for cooking.

it also offers many benefits including its great medicinal properties for antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, and more.

Why do you want to store your ginger in the right way?

I agree that fresh ginger is always the best one.
But store it in the right way is the first thing we need to know to keep it fresh!

To keep its freshness, don’t peel the skin.
You just need to wash it thoroughly with running water. I
t is unnecessary to peel it with a spoon before store it unless you are about to use the ginger for your cooking later on.

How to Store Ginger?

Ginger used to add a warm hint of spice in either both or savory dishes and drinks.
The fresh ones are the one that I always use and it is irreplaceable Ingredients.
Although I tend to love fresh ginger, it is still important to store them and knowing the right way to do it for a better result.

To keep the ginger’s freshness, don’t peel it.
You don’t need to peel the ginger unless you are using them.

Now, let’s store the ginger in ways that I have proven as the best way to do:

  • Let it sit at room temperature.

Ginger can sit for one or two days at room temperature.

You will still get the fresh ginger when you peel it tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

  • Toss them to the refrigerator for a longer sit.

If you want to keep it for a longer period of time, store it in the fridge while still let the skin on.

If you peel the skin, its freshness will decrease easily.
Put them in a zip-top bag.
You can check it periodically by squeezing it a little bit to know whether it is still firm and there isn’t any mold on it.

If you want to use it, simply cut it off a piece, then wrap it again tightly and put them in the zip-top bag,
and toss it in the freezer.

  • The best way on how to store ginger in the freezer for a longer sit.

If you want to freeze them up for even longer sit or indefinitely, you can use them the same way.

Leave the skin on, put them in the zip-top bag, and simply put them in the freezer.
Take it out at room temperature if you want to defrost it before using it.
